Flights

Flights example, adapted from the Cross-Filter Flights (10M) example from Mosaic.

Click and drag to cross-filter the 10 million flight records.

How does Pluot differ from Mosaic?
  • Mosaic computes the histogram via the CPU using SQL and DuckDB, while Pluot computes the histogram via the GPU using a WebGPU compute shader.
  • The Mosaic example filters on every brush interaction, while the Pluot brush waits until the interaction finishes to perform filtering.
  • The Mosaic example re-scales the Y axis of each histogram upon brushing interactions, while Pluot retains the un-selected data points in "background" histogram bars.

Open your browser network and memory tab, then reload each example page to check the memory and network overhead of each tool for yourself.
